Kenig

Submitted by Yoav’s wife, Hanna Kenig, Ramat Gan, towards our Annual Memorial Meeting, Remembering Those Who Passed Away in 2019 – 2020. The meeting was held via Zoom on December 24th, 2020.

Yoav Kenig, the son of Haim Wolf and Batya (Shteindel) was born in Tel Aviv on October 10th, 1953 and passed away on December 12th, 2018 in Givatayim.
Yoav grew up in the Shapira neighborhood in Tel Aviv. He attended the Vitkin School in the neighborhood until after his Bar Mitzvah. At the age of 14, the family moved to Givatayim to live near their extended family.
He studied engraving at the Shevach high-school. After graduation he enlisted in the Armored Corps, and was trained to be a tank examiner.
Upon completion of his military-service he continued his studies and became a practical engineer. He continued to use his skills as part of his work as an IDF civilian (non-military) employee. He worked as a tank examiner, and later in the quality assurance unit.
He was awarded an “outstanding employee” award and met with the late President Haim Herzog.
Yoav married Hannah (Bergman) and they had two sons, Eyal and Omer. He lived to get to know his daughter in law, Ziva and his three grandchildren, Lavi, Itai and Noa.
Yoav had many hobbies - raising and nurturing pigeons and birds, and evaluating wines. He loved to travel in Israel and around the world and mostly, he loved life.
May his memory be blessed.מתוך אזכרה שנתית של ארגון דרוהוביץ בוריסלב והסביבה לנפטרי 2019-2020 ב-zoom -מ-24.12.2020
