David Horowitz

(1899 - 1979)

David Horowitz was born in Drohobycz. He was an economist, the first Director General of Israel's Ministry of Finance. He initiated the establishment of Israel's central bank, the Bank of Israel, and was appointed its first governor. Among his many books – his autobiography, My Yesterday (Hebrew), which was published in 1970, includes magnificent descriptions of Galicia and Drohobycz.
