The Organization of Former Residents of Drohobych, Boryslav and the Surrounding Area was established in Tel Aviv in 1947. However, survivors from Drohobych–Boryslav had already begun holding memorial days in 1946, in the displaced persons camp Fernwald in Germany.
Throughout the years, the organization has ensured the annual commemoration ceremony and gathering of members. In addition, it established a memorial monument at the Nahalat Yitzhak Cemetery in Tel Aviv in memory of the townspeople who were murdered in the Holocaust.
Recently, the organization’s website was upgraded with the goal of preserving the memory and knowledge about our communities and families. We carry out ongoing activities dedicated to expanding knowledge about the residents of these towns, their actions, and the memory of those who perished in the Holocaust, and to sharing this knowledge in Israel and around the world.
We continuously reach out to those who survived, to the next generations, and to all who cherish our communities, inviting them to join us in uncovering, discovering, and preserving our remarkable heritage.
